School Policies & Tuition Schedule

2024-2025

  • The yearly registration fee is $30 per student, with $55 family cap payable at registration.

  • Tuition payment is due by September 1st, 2024; based on an annual fee divided into 10 equal monthly installments from September thru June. Monthly tuition does not reflect the number of classes held each month.

  • For the ease of our families, all registrants are required to enroll in an automatic/recurring payment plan through The MEMDT Family Portal. Families must enroll in the automatic/recurring payment plan using credit or debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover or ACH/electronic check. Families may also make payments by cash, check, or alternate card before the first of the month at the MEMDT office. Accounts will be charged automatically using the payment method on file on the first business day of the month.

  • No tuition refunds will be offered for missed lessons or classes dropped by a student under any circumstances. Monthly tuition must be maintained to hold your place in class unless the student provides a valid medical reason from their physician.

  • There is a $25 late fee per month for every 30 days an account is in arrears. There is a $25 fee for any returned checks.

  • Discounts apply to family members living in the same household. The student with the highest number of class hours shall pay per the fee schedule. All additional siblings will receive a 10% discount.

  • All costume deposits and balances will be charged automatically on the 15th day of the month as indicated below. A total charge of $80 is due November 15th for Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet & Tap, Ballet & Tap, and Ballet, Tap, and Tumble. There is no balance due in December. Costume, socks, and props are covered under this fee. A total Charge of $90 is due November 15th for Kindercombo and Primary classes. There is no balance due in December. Costumes, tights, and props are covered under this fee.  A $65 charge, per performance class, for all other levels is due November 15th. Costume balances will be posted on the family portal and will be due December 15th. There are no refunds on costume deposits after December 1st, 2024. Costumes will be distributed if accounts are current. Parents/guardians are responsible for any balance owed once a costume is ordered.

  • All other fees added to accounts will be charged automatically on the first business day of the month as indicated. Parents/guardians may make partial payments by cash, check, or credit card before the first of the month; with all balances to be charged automatically on the first business day of the month.

  • Parents/guardians must email the office if their child wishes to add or drop classes no later than the last week of the month before the start of the next month. Parents/guardians are responsible for the full monthly tuition if a child drops mid-month. Parents/guardians are responsible for the full monthly tuition if a child drops, and the office is not notified via email.

  • Please be sure all contact information and emergency contact information in your Studio Director account is up-to-date. All important studio information will be sent via email.

  • Parents/guardians, please notify the office, before class, if your child will be absent. If a student misses a class, he/she can take a makeup class at an appropriate level. Please contact the office for additional information.

  • Please check your email or our Facebook page, Instagram, or voicemail for information regarding cancelations. Weekday mornings (only) are automatically canceled if the Wachusett School District cancels school or has a two-hour delay.

  • The school occasionally takes pictures and videos of students during classes, rehearsals, and performances. These may be used on our website, social media sites, and publications. Videos for recital dance practice purposes will be taken by the faculty or staff and posted in the Family portal. Classes will be emailed when videos become available.

  • The school encourages and fosters an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and school spirit. Parents/guardians are expected to cooperate with us as requested for conferences with the Owners and/or Faculty as needed.  We are a private business and reserve the right to unenroll students as deemed necessary.

  • Ballet is a requirement for enrollment in all classes except Acro, Acting, Musical Theatre, and Hip Hop. Some Intermediate and Advanced Levels may require dancers to enroll in more than one ballet class per week. Please check the class requirements section on the Family Portal before registering for a class. Pointe work: Dancers will be evaluated on an individual basis and will be required to take a minimum of two ballet classes per week. Pointe or variations classes do not count as a ballet class requirement. Dancers may not register for pointe without also registering for a ballet class. Pointe work is for the serious ballet dancer. All students en pointe are strongly encouraged to attend classes during the summer months to maintain their strength and technique. Dancers must maintain the minimum requirement of ballet classes for their level through June regardless if they are performing or not and may have to transfer to alternate ballet technique classes. All classes must meet a minimum enrollment to be held weekly. Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment may be combined or canceled.

  • Dancers enrolled in the Creative Movement Level through Jr. III Level, Hip Hop I, Hip Hop II, and Hip Hop III, Acro I, Acro II, and Jr. Modern will perform in either the 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. matinee shows. Some classes such as Acro, Hip Hop, and Modern have combined levels in classes. These classes may cause your children to be scheduled in different performances. We try very hard to keep families with multiple children in the same recital performance. However, it is possible that family members will be in different performances. Dancers enrolled in Intermediate I, II, Advanced Prep, Advanced I-III, Hip Hop IV-V, and Acro III-IV will perform in the evening performance. Acting Classes will have an in-house year-end performance. MEM Dance Company dancers may perform in multiple shows. All recital performances will be held at the Stratos G. Dukakis Performing Arts Center, Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School on Saturday, June 14th, 2025.

  • The school has a very simple and clear-cut dress code which all students are required to observe. Proper attire, hair, and shoes are necessary not only for each dancer’s safety but also to help dancers be prepared and focused in class. All dancers must have the required Dress Code shoes no later than January 31st, 2025.

  • The health and safety of our MEMDT family remains an utmost priority by continuing to ensure a clean and safe environment. Those who feel unwell should refrain from coming to class until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours. We will continue to follow all guidelines as set by local, state, and federal health officials and if necessary are prepared to pivot to a virtual platform.
